Terms & conditions

Use of this website and purchase of products from The Flower Deli constitutes agreement to these terms and conditions.

1. Food Safety and Allergens

The Flower Deli does not sell any of the 14 listed allergens stipulated by the Food Standards Agency.

Some people may have allergies to edible flowers and so it is advisable to try them in small amounts if you are eating flowers for the first time. For people who have pollen allergies and allergies to flowers it is advisable to avoid eating flowers completely.

If you are pregnant or have health concerns such as liver disease then you will need to check whether it is safe for you to eat edible flowers.

The Flower Deli is not responsible or liable for any illness, allergy or reaction to eating our edible flowers.

The Flower Deli complies with the Food Standards Agency’s regulations for Primary Production Food. A copy of our Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points and Local Authority inspection document are available upon request.

2. Flower Picking, Packaging and Processing

Flowers will mostly be picked on the morning of dispatch. They will not be washed or processed at all by The Flower Deli. Petals or sepals may be cut or separated from the flower by The Flower Deli before being packed.

Once picked and packed, the flowers will be stored in sealed wrapping/packaging at a suitable temperature until delivery.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the edible flowers are stored, washed, prepared and processed in a way that is safe for human consumption.

In many cases, it is only the petals of the edible flower that are safe to eat. It is the responsibility of the customer to know which flower parts are safe to eat and how to prepare them and to employ these methods.

3. Liability

In no event shall The Flower Deli be liable to our customers for any business losses, costs or expenses. If there is any liability this is limited to the purchase price of the related products from The Flower Deli. This does not affect your statutory rights.

4. Prices and description of products

Prices and descriptions of our products are shown on our website. These may change at any time without prior notice.

If any of our edible flowers become unavailable, we will try to update the website as soon as possible to reflect this but we cannot guarantee this will always be the case.

Because edible flowers are a natural product, photographs and descriptions of flowers on the website may differ from the actual flower products available. We will try to provide as accurate information as possible on our website and in e-mail communication with our customers at the time of ordering. We accept no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions on price and product information and images.

Prices will be shown based on number of flowers. We do not charge VAT. Delivery prices via courier are provided here.

5. Ordering and payment

Edible flowers are ordered from The Flower Deli via the online shop or by e-mail / telephone communication. A confirmation of order e-mail will be sent to the customer's e-mail address provided. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the accuracy of this order and if there are any discrepancies contact The Flower Deli as soon as possible to make the necessary corrections.

Payments via the online shop are processed securely via third party payment processors PayPal or Stripe. The Flower Deli does not store any customer bank details or credit/debit card details. You do not need a PayPal account to pay via PayPal.

To complete an order via the online shop the customer must pay in full at the online shop checkout. Unpaid or partially paid orders will be cancelled.

For orders made outside of the online shop (i.e. via e-mail or telephone communication) payments will be made by PayPal invoice or bank transfer. PayPal invoices and bank transfers must be paid in full before midnight on the day before the day of dispatch (e.g. for delivery on Friday, payment must be made by midnight on the preceding Wednesday). On some occassions we will accept cash on delivery but only if previously agreed. Cash will not be accepted for orders placed via the online shop. Failure to pay on time will result in the order being cancelled.

The Flower Deli reserves the right to decline any orders at our own discretion.

6. Availability of products

If The Flower Deli is unable to fulfil an order, replacement products or a full refund will be offered.

Because our edible flowers are natural seasonal products, there will be times in the year (mainly throughout winter) that they will not be for available for sale. We will update our website and communications to reflect this as soon as possible.

7. Delivery

7a. Delivery via Royal Mail

Orders placed via the online shop will be delivered by Royal Mail special delivery before 1pm, unless otherwise agreed. Please see our delivery page for delivery days and prices. Delivery prices shown are for delivery to England, Wales and Mainland Scotland only. For other UK areas, please get in touch for delivery costs. Delivery outside of the UK is not available. Delivery days are Thursday, Friday and Saturday before 1pm. If you require delivery on an alternative day or at an earlier time, please get in touch. Customers are able to choose a delivery date during online checkout. Online orders must be made and paid at least 48 hours before delivery.

Flowers will usually be picked on the morning of dispatch and delivered the next day. When picked, the flowers are placed into food safe, sealed punnets and packaged into delivery boxes with small ice packs to help keep them cool. Until they are processed at the post office they will be kept refridgerated. Once delivered it is the customer's responsibility to ensure the edible flowers are stored appropriately until use.

Edible flowers will be delivered to the contact person and delivery address given during the online shop checkout. A signature will be required by Royal Mail on delivery. If the customer is not available to accept and sign for the delivery then it will be taken back to the Royal Mail depot for collection or delivery at an alternative time. The Flower Deli cannot be held resposible for any damage, loss or delay to the delivery by Royal Mail and will not be liable to any costs incurred by the customer or any other party due to such damage, loss or delay.

Unless otherwise arranged delivery will be before 1pm and this time cannot be changed after the flowers have been posted. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure they are available to receive and sign for the package during that time. A reference number will be e-mailed to the customer so that they may track their delivery at the Royal Mail website. The Flower Deli cannot be responsible for this information being unavailable due to the Royal Mail website not being online or for any other reason.

7c. After Delivery

Once delivered, the edible flowers should be removed from the outer packaging and the punnet kept sealed and refrigerated until the flowers are ready to use. The Flower Deli is not responsible for loss or damage to the flowers once delivered.

8. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation of orders must be received 48 hours before dispatch (e.g. cancellation must be received before midnight on Monday before dispatch on Wednesday - for a Thursday delivery)

A full refund will be provided for cancellations made before the above cancellation deadline.

Cancellations made after the above cancellation deadline will incur the full charge and no refund provided.

If a customer is unsatisfied with the quality of our products at the time of delivery we will offer a replacement or refund at our discretion for the price of the flowers only. The Flower Deli cannot be responsible for a reduction in quality of the flower product if they have not been stored, washed, prepared or processed appropriately after delivery.
